Description
This course is designed for urban dwellers and sustainability enthusiasts who want to grow their own food using limited space and innovative techniques. You’ll learn the basics of soil-based urban gardening, container planting, vertical farming, and rooftop gardens. The course also provides an in-depth introduction to hydroponics—a soilless farming method using nutrient-rich water solutions. Topics include system types (NFT, DWC, drip), nutrient management, pH and EC levels, lighting, pest control, and harvesting techniques. Participants will discover how to design small-scale home setups or community gardens and select the right crops for urban environments. The course includes practical guides, video demonstrations, and downloadable planning templates. By the end, learners will be empowered to start their own productive urban gardens or hydroponic systems, contributing to local food sustainability, health, and community resilience.
